DAVID GRINBERG is a M&A/Private Equity partner in Sidley Austin’s Century City office. David focuses on a broad range of merger and acquisition transactions, growth equity raises and other strategic transactions in a multitude of industries.
David routinely advises founder-owned businesses in sales to sophisticated buyers, especially in more complicated transactions involving equity rollovers, representation and warranty insurance, restrictive covenants, and earnouts.
David spearheads Sidley’s industry-leading beauty, cosmetic, personal care and wellness practice. Some of David’s transactions in the sector include the sale of Naturium, Hero Cosmetics, Amika and Eva, Coola Suncare, Dr. Squatch, TheraBreath, Lilly Lashes, and capital raises for companies such as Vegamour, Osea, Pacifica, Kitsch and Moonjuice. David led the team that received The Deal’s “Consumer Deal of the Year” award in 2020 for representing Drunk Elephant in its US$845 million acquisition by Shiseido Americas Corporation.
David has also represented acquirors and sellers in the “human capital”/professional services area including the sale of FocalPoint, VWM Analytics, BearTooth Advisors, Bel Air Investment Advisors, Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman, and the acquisition of Flynn Family Offices, Milestone Advisors, Archpoint and MESA.
David is recognized as a Noted Practitioner for California Corporate M&A by Chambers USA. He was named one of California’s 20 top lawyers under 40 by the Daily Journal and the Los Angeles Business Journal featured him as one of the “Top 40 M&A Lawyers.”
